During the 2024 Indian Premier League season, high scores were the norm almost every night, but Wednesday presented an anomaly as Gujarat Titans managed to post a below-average 89 against the Delhi Capitals.
This was Gujarat's lowest score ever in the IPL. The batters kept losing their wickets one after another because Delhi played very well and put a lot of pressure on them during the match.
Wriddhiman Saha scored 2 runs, while skipper Shubman Gill managed only 8 runs. After that, Sai Sudharsan and David Miller were dismissed quickly, scoring just 12 and 2 runs respectively.
Abhinav Manohar departed as Gujarat slumped to 47/5 in the first 8 overs. Rahul Tewatia (10 runs) and Shahrukh Khan (0 runs) were quickly out. Rashid Khan top-scored with 31 runs, but Gujarat Titans were all out for 89.
The lowest total ever in the IPL was when Royal Challengers Bangalore were all out for 49 against Kolkata Knight Riders during the 2017 series.
