Hungary (HUN) will be keen to give world champions France (FRA) a run for their money when both teams face-off in a Euro 2020 Group F clash. They had a goal ruled out for offside against Portugal and made Cristiano Ronaldo and co wait till the 84th-minute to score the first goal. Mats Hummels’ own goal made the difference in France’s opening game in the tournament. It wasn’t an impressive performance from Les Bleus, but they managed to grab three crucial points.
Marco Rossi, the Hungary head coach, is likely to field the same playing XI from the 0-3 defeat against Portugal. The backline faces an arduous task as France is a team full of attacking-minded players. Endre Botka, the standout player in the Hungarian line-up against Portugal, will have an even more difficult task at his hands. Meanwhile, Adam Szalai and Roland Sallai are capable of hurting the French back four. Both combined registered three shots on target against Portugal.
After the narrow win over Germany, the onus is on France to deliver a quality attacking performance. The two full-backs – Benjamin Pavard and Lucas Hernandez – are likely to cause headache to the Hungarian backline. Kylian Mbappe and Antoine Griezmann will hope to be clinical in front of goal, while Karim Benzema could end a long wait for his first goal in the Euros.
