A star-studded London Spirit is one of the favorites to win the inaugural edition of The Hundred. England skipper Eoin Morgan, seasoned T20 campaigners Ravi Bopara and Mohammad Nabi, Pakistan speedster Mohammad Amir, and hard-hitting batsman Josh Inglis are some of the big names in the squad. Lord’s will host the home matches of the franchise.
England Test team regulars Zak Crawley and Dan Lawrence are likely to play pivotal roles in the London Spirit’s batting department. Crawley had a decent outing against Pakistan in the ODI series and has amassed more than 300 runs in the ongoing Vitality Blast. Meanwhile, Lawrence has registered three half-centuries in his last five matches for Essex in the T20 tournament. All-rounder Roelof van der Merwe, who picked up three wickets and took a brilliant catch against Glamorgan on Friday, is another exciting player in the franchise’s ranks.
Uncapped seamer Blake Cullen is one of the young players to watch out for in the tournament. The 19-year-old has clinched 18 wickets from 11 matches, including two four-wicket hauls, in the Vitality Blast so far. He will be eager to learn the tricks of the fast bowling trade from Amir, Mark Wood, and Jade Dernbach.
