Two in-form sides – Southern Brave (SOB) and Northern Superchargers (NOS) – meet each other in match 21 of the Hundred. The home side Southern Brave won two of their last three games as they beat Birmingham Phoenix and London Spirit, and rain washed out the fixture against Manchester Originals. With back-to-back wins, Northern Superchargers have climbed to fourth in the points table. The Nottingham-based outfit crushed London Spirit by 63 runs in their last game.
Team News
Liam Dawson might sit out after leaving the field with a finger injury against Manchester Originals. Warwickshire spinner Danny Briggs, who played in the first two matches, could come in place of Dawson. Tymal Mills was impressive yet again in the Hundred as he grabbed a wicket in his first set of five in the rain-affected match in Manchester. The left-arm pacer was also outstanding in the victory against London Spirit. He conceded just four runs in his last two sets of five.
The Conway-less batting line-up is likely to remain the same. Paul Stirling was in the playing eleven against Manchester Originals and could bat at No. 4. Though he opens the batting for Ireland, Southern Brave has a settled opening pair in James Vince and Quinton de Kock. After scoring a fifty against London Spirit, Alex Davies will be keen to register another big knock.
Adam Lyth is likely to open the batting with Chris Lynn despite his struggles in the last three games. Northern Superchargers fans will be hoping for another special knock from stand-in captain David Willey, who played a sensational 81 against London Spirit. Meanwhile, Harry Brook is 25 runs away from reaching 200 runs in the tournament. Darren Lehmann, the Northern Superchargers head coach, will be happy that overseas batsman Dane Vilas found runs after being dismissed for a duck on his Hundred debut.
Northern Superchargers spinners have been in outstanding form. Adil Rashid and Mujeeb Ur Rahman picked up four wickets between them in the last game. The Afghanistan spinner conceded just six runs in his 20 balls against London Spirit, while Rashid has bagged four from the two fixtures away from home. Debutant Ben Raine, too, made a mark in his first match in the Hundred, claiming a three-wicket haul.
