Twitter Reactions: Ireland stun South Africa

More than 500 fans at Malahide Cricket Club Ground witnessed a historic moment as Ireland beat South Africa by 43 runs in the second ODI of the three-match series. It was Ireland’s first win over the Proteas since making their debut in international cricket in 2006.

Sent out to bat first, Ireland set the visitors a target of 291 thanks to captain Andy Balbirnie’s seventh ODI hundred and a quickfire 90-run stand between Harry Tector and George Dockrell for the fourth wicket. South Africa, in reply, was in a comfortable position with Janneman Malan registering his second ODI fifty. But once he departed, the home side grabbed the control and overpowered the Proteas to a comfortable 43-run win.
