Indian T20 League 2022: Bangalore vs Chennai Fantasy Cricket Match-Ups

Two teams desperate for two points face each other at MCA Stadium in Pune in match 49 of the Indian T20 League 2022 season. Bangalore have lost their last three matches and find themselves sixth in the points table. Faf du Plessis' men, who have ten points from as many games, can climb to playoff places with a victory on Wednesday. On the other hand, Chennai kept their slim playoff hopes alive after a 13-run win over Hyderabad in their last game. They remain ninth with just six points.

An under-fire Ruturaj Gaikwad played a stellar knock against Hyderabad at MCA Stadium. He missed out on a century by just one run and went past 200 runs in the 15th edition. Bangalore all-rounder Glenn Maxwell, who departed for a duck in his previous outing in Pune, hasn't produced a big knock since scoring 55 against Delhi a few weeks ago. 

Verdict: R Gaikwad has the upper hand against G Maxwell.

W HASARANGA VS J HAZLEWOOD

With 25 wickets between them, Wanindu Hasaranga and Josh Hazlewood have been excellent for Bangalore in the ongoing season. The Aussie pacer impressed the last time Bangalore played at MCA Stadium. He dismissed Jos Buttler in the powerplay and finished with figures of 2/19 in four overs. Meanwhile, Hasaranga has clinched four wickets at an economy rate of 6.37 in two matches in Pune. 

Verdict: W Hasaranga could beat J Hazlewood in this Match-Up.

M THEEKSHANA VS M SIRAJ

Two players who couldn't pick up a wicket in their respective last matches meet in this Match-Up. Maheesh Theekshana has taken eight wickets in six outings, while Mohammed Siraj, too, has eight wickets but has played four games more than the Sri Lankan. The Chennai spinner has a far better economy rate -7.54 - than the Indian pacer, who has conceded more than nine runs per over. 

Verdict: M Theekshana is likely to grab more fantasy points than M Siraj.

H PATEL VS M CHOUDHARY   

Mukesh Choudhary starred in Chennai's victory against Hyderabad with his maiden four-wicket haul in T20 cricket. It also helped him take his wicket tally to double-digits in the 15th edition. Harshal Patel, on the other hand, had clinched five wickets in two matches against the defending champions last year. The medium-pacer went wicketless in his last outing. 

Verdict: M Choudhary is the favorite to win this Match-Up.
